Timo Sarpaneva Ice-Glass Slim Candle Holder

Item Type: Pre-Loved

A heavy piece of textured glass made to hold a slim candle and the light it throws.

Thick, solid clear glass moulded to echo the fractured surface of arctic ice. The texture runs across every face and scatters candlelight across the table. The opening holds a slim candle of 1 cm diameter. At 5 × 5 cm and 200 g, it has presence without demanding attention. An ice-glass candle holder in the Nordic Brutalist design tradition.

A Juhava clear ice-glass candle holder designed by Timo Sarpaneva, made in Finland in the 1970s. Sarpaneva was one of the defining voices of Finnish glass design, with work for Iittala held in museum collections across Europe.
