Hand-worked silver over a mahogany back. The hammered finish gives the surface movement — no two sections reflect the same way. The wood grounds it: dark, dense, quiet behind the silver. Holds a 13 × 9 cm photograph. A piece made to last decades, not seasons.

This frame comes from Italian silver craft tradition — small workshops producing gift and decorative objects in hallmarked silver over solid wood, a trade centred in Tuscany and the Veneto through the late twentieth century and into the 2010s. The 1g silver overlay is applied to the frame face and sides, with the mahogany back left exposed. Pieces like this were made for longevity, not volume.
