The round form sits at 34 cm across, with a generous 22 cm height — wide enough for bread, fruit, or whatever the day calls for. The handle arcs overhead to a total height of 50 cm, its slight asymmetry a mark of hand manufacture rather than a flaw. No two are the same.

This basket comes from Tuscany, made during the 1970s when Italian artisan basketweaving was still a living domestic tradition — pieces produced not for export or decoration but for daily use in Italian households. Rattan was the material of choice: light, durable, and easy to work by hand. Pieces from this period carry the texture and variation that factory production never achieves.
