This sterling silver metal lighter case is handmade in Lucca, Tuscany, Italy, for the Mini Bic. Its smooth, mirror-polished surface catches the light and reflects the colours around it, giving an everyday lighter a more considered presence. A small opening at the base lets the lighter slide in and out with ease, and its 16 g weight gives it a satisfying sense of substance without bulk.

Made individually by a Lucca silversmith, without casting or moulding, each case is solid sterling silver 925 and hallmarked accordingly. Sterling silver is a precious metal: not chrome, stainless steel or silver plate. It is a refined silver lighter cover for the Bic, also known as a Bic cover or Bic case, made to last.

The candle lighter you reach for each evening usually lives in a drawer, because plastic is not something to leave out. In silver, it can stay on the table beside the candles, and lighting them becomes a small, deliberate moment. It softens with handling, takes on a gentle patina, and can be polished back at any time. A gift for him or for her that is used daily and kept for years.
