How to Play Shanghai:
The most common version of the game includes 41 Mikado sticks of different colors, each assigned a different point value:
- Black stick: 50 points

- Blue sticks: 25 points

- Green sticks: 10 points

- Red sticks: 5 points

- Yellow sticks: 2 points

To start, drop the bundle of sticks vertically with the tips resting on a table or floor. This creates a disordered fan in which the sticks lean against or are entangled with each other.
Players take turns attempting to remove as many sticks as possible (or up to three, depending on the version), without moving any others.
If a player touches or causes other sticks to move, their turn ends. The first stick can be picked up by hand; for subsequent sticks, players may use sticks already removed.
The game ends when all sticks have been collected. Points are then totaled according to each stick’s value, and the player with the highest score wins!
